Frost Science Museum

A main consideration for this site design was playing very closely to the brief: the new site concept had to communicate this is not your basic science, technology, engineering and math education center; it is a space that inspires learning and enables people to explore science.

Results

Inside the impressive building is the breathtaking 31-foot oculus lens, spanning three floors of the Gulf Stream Aquarium. I felt there needed to be lots of this eye-candy. One final touch was reflecting the time of day a user visits the site by updating the header and hero building-face in either noon, afternoon or evening themes.

Also redesigned the site for the sister museum, PAMM. I felt putting the featured art front and center - as opposed to thumbnails - made a stronger impression. There was plenty of discussion regarding membership drive; I decided that had to take a prominent spot on the home page.

A new identity was also included in the brief. I kept it simple and legible, adding an accent mark and making sure there was a smaller, mobile version.
